Internet Dating Success Story: Jess and Russ
In which the Internet plays a small but crucial part in bringing together two beautifully creative artist souls:
It’s a great modern love story, all by itself.
And for our conversation, note the match.com moment.
Go read it, and then come back, so we can discuss. I’ll wait…
<twiddles thumbs, looks up at ceiling, whistles…>
Done? Good!
<passes tissue box>
So, here’s what I noticed:
Both of them had hit a point in 2008 where they were giving up. She’d been barraged by d-bags, he by bad Ciabattas.
I believe that that moment, when you have just given up, is a place where magic happens.
Also note that she “winked” at him. Internet dating is a funny animal. I highly recommend to my clients that they make the first move, especially women. Make the first move, and then… wait.
In Russ and Jess’s case, it was a long wait, but worth it.
Which brings up another KEY to finding the cosmic glue: Timing.
And then, when Jessica was really ready to commit, she couldn’t wait any longer, and she let him know. Another wink, of sorts.
Turns out, that was all the winking he needed.
The rest is what happens in the best possible way when two people discover that they want to be together.
If you read to the end, you experienced their whole story, his amazing proposal.
Did you feel moved?
That movement happened via thoughtfully developed text and a few carefully chosen images.
Imagine that you could move someone in the same way with your online profile and photos. (You knew I’d work this back around to my services, didn’t you?)

I’ll admit, that made me cry. Love your blog lady.
Thank you, Beautiful Laura! Right back at you!
That was the most amazing website ever! What a find! Did you help them or just learn from them?? I LOVE IT! Great content!
I know, Jo! I love it, too. No credit for getting them together, just wanted to share it with my peeps and point out that online dating, while onerous, also creates opportunities. The graphic of the keyboard coming together was one of my favorite parts!
It was great to read this “online dating” success story. I really liked it. Online dating played very important role here. Thanks for sharing such a great story.
